Practical Purposes
One of the common uses for fusion gun grease is lubricating new O-rings after replacing the old ones. Using fusion gun grease during assembly helps protect the O-ring from damage by abrasion, pinching, or cutting. It also helps to secure the O-ring properly and speeds up operations.

Fusion gun grease can also come in handy when servicing Y strainer screens. Applying some fusion gun grease to the threads of the Y strainer cap will aide in the removal of the cap the next time that Y strainer maintenance is performed.
Another use for fusion gun grease comes when changing product. Lubricate the threads on the collar of the drum pump with fusion gun grease before placing the pump back in the drum. This will aid in unscrewing the collar out of the drum so there won’t be a need for a large pipe wrench. With this simple method, there is less chance of damaging the collar or the drum pump.
